Meet Christine! 

 

Born in Los Angeles, CA, to parents from Mora County, NM, Christine came of age while living in Ledoux, NM. She moved away to go to college but love brought her back and she became a wife, gave birth to 4 children, and found meaningful employment at the social security administration for 30 years. During that time she also became a widow, remarried, and then later chose to divorce.

 

She is a survivor of tragic events and I was impressed with her radiance, larger-than-life personality, and how she has fought her way back to loving herself after experiencing hardship.  In her portrait I captured her ability to see life as it is and her desire to find joy on the other side of pain.
