Meet Bea!

 

Born and raised in Las Vegas, NM, I met Bea while I was volunteering at the local animal shelter where she worked. I got to know her better while she modeled.

 

Bea was my very first model I found her to be kind and patient as I worked and re-worked her portrait. At that time Bea was in-between jobs and trying to decide what to do.

 

From an early age she was involved with helping animals and eventually she decided to make animal care her career as the manager of the City of Las Vegas Animal Care Center. Through her work helping local animals she has seen some very difficult situations and had to make some very difficult decisions. Somehow she still manages to smile and laugh but when she was in the studio I saw her serious, reserved, and contemplative side which I captured in her portrait.
